My Story

Although my journey of entrepreneurship started at a young age, things really started to take off during my freshman year in highschool. Through playing football at Glenbrook South, I learned that you get out what you put in, and if you want to be better than the rest, you have to put in more work than the rest. I have always had an internal struggle with the thought of doing one thing for the rest of my life. With Student Maintenance, I get to do something new every day. No job turns out the same. Whether it is the problems along the way, the people I get to work with, or the new people I meet, I love every part of it. Student Maintenance truly helps me develop into the person I want to be. Growing up shy, I was afraid to talk to people. I would hide behind my parents when we would talk to people at church, and I would be scared of just having a conversation. This changed when I realized that it was up to me to change. I got my stuff together, went to home depot with my older brother and picked up some squeegees and an extension pole. We started knocking on people’s doors. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, but what I did know was that I was heading in the right direction. Through many times I have wanted to quit from being turned down too often, or from the times when I felt like I was too tired, I decided that I can just take one more step. Because of my persistence through these tribulations, I was able to take my part in Student Maintenance. I acquired vast experience in problem solving skills, in team management skills, and many other things. I look forward to each day in which we as a team have a new problem to tackle, and am extremely grateful for the skills which I have been able to put together. It has been an extremely difficult process to find other people with the same like-minded goals and mindset as me, but now that we have it here at Student Maintenance, I know that there is no stopping until we all end up where we want to. Growing up, my father taught me that you reap what you sow, and I know that right here, we have all sewn together the greatest team that I can imagine. Each and every one of us with our different skill sets, contrast with one another and help each other grow in areas we would not be able to do so alone. I know that Student Maintenance has the potential to become something great with the hard workers it has within it, and the great community of the North Shore area which has helped us become what we are so far! Everybody that has hired us on past jobs, has been a pleasure to talk to, and hear their stories as well. It is the people around me that bring me up from my worst days. Whether it is a team member bringing light to me in the dark, or a client mentioning how we truly have something going for us. I have always had a passion for helping other people, and doing what I do, I get to do that in multiple aspects. From delivering my best quality work, to giving advice based on my experience, to even reminding my coworkers and peers how helpful and especially skilled they are. I don’t have a single regret in taking this path, and I know that all the hard work we are collectively putting in now will all be worth it.
